Fellowship Opportunity just opened

We weren’t sure whether to include this great opportunity or not, simply because it can only be accessed by Canadian citizens. However, we thought it important to publish and share, given the number of our UK based readers who do have Canadian citizenship who might be interested.

The Action Canada Fellowship is a unique opportunity to discover Canada, upgrade your understanding of public policy processes, refine your leadership skills and build a community of other dedicated leaders.

Each year, Action Canada selects Fellows from a wide variety of backgrounds—both personal and professional—who want to have a significant impact on how public policy is made in their communities and across Canada. The overarching objective of the Action Canada Fellowship is to strengthen and increase the leadership effectiveness of its Fellows.

This is done by:

  • Enhancing Fellows’ understanding of Canada through study tours across the country;

  • Providing concrete tools to support the Fellows’ leadership skills and practice and their ability to make a difference in Canada by interacting with leaders from business, government and the broader community;

  • Strengthening Fellows’ understanding of how policy is developed through a project related to the selected policy theme; and

  • Creating a group of change-makers—a network of enduring relationships among the participants and the Alumni that aims to influence public policy in Canada.

Selection criteria and application information are here but bear in mind what we said at the start of this story - you must be a Canadian citizen (or a permanent resident). Good luck.
