 Mission: 

·      To unite alumni who have been involved with the Canada UK Foundation and the Canada Memorial Foundation

·      To develop and support an interesting and dynamic community of alumni who want to learn and grow, and stay connected with each other and with Canada and the Canadian Community in the United Kingdom

·      To enhance and renew the Foundation experience by inspiring new ideas and collaborations and by building bridges between people and sectors 

 

Values:

·      A self governing community of alumni of the Canada UK Foundation and the Canadian Memorial Foundation

·      A diverse community encompassing alumni of all ages, cultures, identities, affiliations and countries of residence

·      A belief both in fellowship and the right to privacy

·      A rejection of all forms of discrimination and prejudice

·      A commitment to integrity, honesty and ethical behaviour and a society that is built on mutual respect and freedom of expression

·      A belief in the best of Canada, Canadians and Canadian values

·      An acknowledgement of the enrichment provided by lifelong learning

·      The healthy exchange of interests and ideas

·      The need to inspire positive change for alumni, individually and collectively, and the places where they live and work

·      Contributing to the future health of the Canada UK Foundation and the Canadian Memorial Foundation

 

Governance: 

·      The Alumni Association has no founding constitution

·      The Association is governed by a Steering Committee of alumni representing diversity by gender, age, culture, identity, affiliation and country of residence

·      Members of the Committee are elected in the second calendar quarter of every year 

·      Members of the Committee serve for a three year term after which they may stand for re-election for a second three year term.

·      The Committee annually elects a Chair for its meetings and as the primary point of contact with the Canada UK Foundation and the Canadian Memorial Foundation.

·      The Chair of the Steering Committee serves for one year 

·      The Committee may also elect a First and Second Vice Chair as successors to its Chair and from time to time make other appointments to serve the Alumni Association

·      Committee appointments are effective from Canada Day, 1st July every year

·      Alumni interested in joining the Committee should contact the Chair
