As the UK prepares to leave the European Union, a substantial redesign of the immigration system is on the cards.

IPPR has long argued that different parts of the UK have different requirements from the immigration system, and that they experience migration differently too. Brexit offers an opportunity to consider a regional dimension to our migration system. Would a regionalised immigration policy be both feasible and desirable?
